SCMA held its first annual Automotive Summit Feb. 15-17 at Embassy Suites and Clemson University International Center for Automotive Research in Greenville, SC. The Summit served as an educational and networking event meant to benefit automotive manufacturers and suppliers. 

Peter Brown, Publisher and Editorial Director of Automotive News, was the Summit’s keynote speaker. In his address, Brown said there’s plenty of optimism within North American auto makers and that they are hiring and raising forecasts.  

Speaker Anand Gramopadhye praised Clemson’s ICAR programs for helping to drive the state’s economy. 

Gov. Nikki Haley also offered her remarks Thursday at the Summit and she stressed the importance of educating the workforce.
